The Refuse Division is responsible for management of trash collection and disposal for residences, and for commercial curbside customers.  Residential services include curbside recycling, bulky item pick-up, yard waste composting, and proper disposal of household hazardous waste.   

The City of Platte City picks up commercial curbside refuse on Monday and Thursday. Call (816) 858-4815 or email Sharon Anderson for schedule information.

The City also offers a recycling drop-off location at 108 Paxton, in front of the City garage.  Materials accepted are #1-#7 plastics (no styrofoam or plastic bags), tin cans, aluminum cans, glass food containers, and paper (no cardboard or paperboard).  This drop-off location is open to anyone, and is accessible 24 hours a day. 

The City's compost area is at the sewer plant, at the west end of Riverview Park.  Materials accepted are leaves, grass clippings and brush.  Areas are marked for each material, and only paper bags are accepted.  Due to space constraints, the compost area is for City residents only, and is not open to contractors.

$13.75 per month for residential customers
$32.50 per month for Commercial Customers no dumpsters

$15.00 per single pick-up for yard waste

$84.00 for weekly yard waste pick-up for the season (April 1 - November 30)
