City Clerk

The City Clerk provides the following functions:

  • Assists the Board of Aldermen in the conduct of Meetings
  • Prepares the Board of Aldermen, Board of Zoning Adjustments, and Planning and Zoning Meeting agendas
  • Keeps the journal of Board of Aldermen, Cemetery Board, Board of Zoning Adjustment, and Planning and Zoning Proceedings
  • Authenticates and records all ordinances and resolutions
  • Edits and prints the City Code
  • Certifies the validity of City documents for court evidence
  • Attests to signatures on contracts and proclamations
  • Applies the City Seal when appropriate
  • Administers oaths of office
  • Maintains a record of membership on all Board of Aldermen appointed Boards and Commissions
  • Writes and types ordinances and resolutions
  • Authenticates, signs and attests deeds for the Platte City Cemetery
  • Transcribes the minutes of all Board of Aldermen, Cemetery Board, Board of Zoning Adjustment, and Planning and Zoning Meetings
  • Works with the Platte County Board of Election Commissioners in the handling of elections for the City
  • Receives all Formal Bid submissions to the City of Platte City for various City Projects.
  • Maintain's all public records available and provides public information in accordance with the Missouri Sunshine Law.
  • The City Clerk is the Custodian of Records
