The City of Platte City is a member of Mid-America Regional Council, which gives our residents access to household hazardous waste disposal sites throughout the metro area.  

Kansas City Missouri offers a permanent drop off location that is available to Platte City residents year-round.  Appointments are no longer required.    Residential only, no commercial waste.  Call (816) 513-8400

Hours of Operation: Thursday, and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Requirements: Must have proof of residency (i.e. property tax receipt, water bill, or letter from City)

The facility accepts:  automotive fluids, batteries, fuels, household cleaners, lawn & garden products, pesticides, paint and related products. 

Mobile events are scheduled throughout the metro area spring through fall. The 2012 schedule will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
